Taxonomy Identification: Family Curculionidae, first identified by Kirsch in 1877
Colour: Overall colouration blue with black bands, highly variable.
Size: Length from tip of snout to end of abdomen 26-30mm – excludes legs and antenna
Comments & Applications: This is a particularly stunning species. Weevils are popular among the art and design industry. Used in framing, domes, artwork, photography, film and jewellery applications
