Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae. First named by Godart in 1819
Colour: Topside (recto) coloured a dark brownish black with white streaks on hind-wings and minimal white spots on forewings. The underside (verso) brownish back with rows of white spots.
Size: Wingspan 80-90mm
Comments & Applications: A large eye catching species from Seram, commonly called Eichhorn’s crow butterfly. Nice collectors species. Ideal for an education or school project, also perfect for framing, domes photography, interior design and film applications.
