Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Felder in 1867
Colour: Topside (recto) forewings of the male are blue with faint white markings. The female only has blue on the forewing tips and only the female carries the white stripes.
Size: Wingspan 80-90mm – very large examples
