Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, Named by Cramer in 1779
Colour: Colouration topside (recto) orange with fine black lines and spots and hint of red. The underside (verso) hind-wings are brownish-orange.
Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
Comments & Applications: A wide ranging species found throughout the Neotropical region. Commonly called the Mexican Fritillary butterfly. Not often offered for sale, collectable and ideal for trade applications creating unique one off pieces.
