Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Cramer in 1775

Colour: Topside (recto) wings are black with large areas of reddish-orange. The underside (verso) is a mixture of autumn brown colours for camouflage.

Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
