Taxonomy Identification: Family Papilionidae, First named by Stoll in 1780
Colour: Overall colour black with multiple pale yellow bars. Underside (verso) similar but with extra red and pale blueish green markings.
Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
Comments & Applications: A dainty species, commonly called the Chain Swordtail butterfly. Much used for craft and design: butterfly framing, domes, artwork, photography, media and film applications.
