Taxonomy Identification: Family, Satyrinae, First named by Linnaeus in 1758.

Colour: Topside (recto) wings are clear with amber veins ending in thinker brown patch with two eyelets. Underside (verso)  similar but paler.

Size: Wingspan 60-75mm
