Taxonomy Identification: Family, Cerambycidae. First named by Newman in 1842.
Colour: The Male beetle is looks larger than the female due to the long antenna. Mostly black with long antenna. The female is more chocolate brown. Both beetles look like they are wearing embossed armour around the thorax.
Size: Length measuring from tip of head/jaw to the end of the abdomen, but excluding legs and antenna Male: 55-60mm, Female 50-55mm
