Taxonomy Identification: Family Lycaenidae, First named by Linnaeus in 1758

Colour: Topside (recto) bright blue in the male, female brown with white patch and small blue streak. The underside (verso) pale brown with incredible red streaks edged in metallic gold. Female underside carries a large cream-white patch.

Size: Wingspan 25-30mm

Comments & Applications: A delicate blue species with incredibly coloured underside. English common name: Royal Blue butterfly. A rare collectors species. Useful in science, education, butterfly framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film applications.

Format: Unmounted, papered, wings folded, requires relaxing and setting
