Taxonomy Identification: Family Lycaenidae. First named by Hewitson in 1865
Colour: The topside (recto) wings on the male are dark violet blue with broad black margin. Underside (verso) pale blue-white with broad faun line and finer pencil line edge with large black eye markings.
Comments & Applications: This is a rare Lycaenidae species, seldom offered for sale. Its english common name is the ‘fairy hairstreak’ butterfly. A connoisseur species.
