Taxonomy Identification: Family Catocalinae. First named by Cramer in 1776
Colour: The topside (recto) wings are brown with a lilac patch on the hindwing. The male has an additional black streak. Underside wings (verso) similar but paler with lilac lines.
Size: Wingspan 80-90mm
