Taxonomy Identification: Scorpionidae, First named by Fabricius in 1798
Colour: Overall colour yellowish-brown with darker lines and chevrons on the body. Final tail segments and sting black.
Size: Length from tail to the tip of claws variable from 40-70mm
Comments & Applications: This scorpion belongs to the dreaded buthidae family which incorporates some of the deadliest scorpions on the planet. Thankfully our dried specimens are harmless and the venom being made of protein breaks down and has no effects once dry. A popular scorpion in the art and crafts trade used for artwork, photography, framing, horror film, entertainment and educational purposes
