Description

Taxonomy Identification: Family, Hemiptera; Cicadoidea. Distant in 1905.

Colour: The wings are clear with brown veins and various brown spots and dashes. Near the base of the forewing is a reddish brown patch. The thorax is dark brown with two black markings. Abdomen dark brown .

Size: Wingspan 160-180mm

Comments & Applications: This huge cicada is a member of the Megapomponia family which incorporates the worlds largest cicada species. These huge insects are extensively used in wall art, frames, domes, insect artistry, photography, interior design, film and much more. Always a favourite with collectors due to its huge size.
