Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae. First named by Quoy & Gaimard in 1825.
Colour: The topside (recto) forewings are black with twin red bar on the forewing. Hindwings black with broad orange margin with black spots. Underside wings (verso) similar with additional iridescent blue.
Size: Wingspan 58-65mm
Comments & Applications: This is a beautiful moth from Papua, rarely offered for sale, one for the connoisseur. Useful in bespoke applications for design, entomology, craft, taxidermy
