Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae. First named by Felder in 1867
Colour: The topside (recto) is dark brown with small eyelets. The underside (verso) is a rich orange brown with darker marginal line edged varying sized eyelets.
Size: Wingspan 35-40mm
Comments & Applications: A butterfly found in Papua New Guinea, commonly known as Bush Brown butterflies. Not often offered for sale, hence a collectable species.
Dried butterflies make the perfect subject for school science projects. Also for framing, domes, photography, interior design and film applications.
