Comments & Applications: A once widespread species across the British Isles especially in mature forests of southern England. Sadly this magnificent butterfly became yet another victim of habitat loss accelerated by the dutch elm disease which ravaged the larval foodplant. By the 1960’s the Large Tortoiseshell became extinct in Britain. It remains widespread across Europe but remains in serious decline. We are pleased to offer captive bred examples of this rare butterfly.

Format:  SET wings spread, mounted on pin, cabinet ready with locational data
