Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Denis & Schiffermüller in 1775)
Colour: Topside (recto) is predominantly orange with black and yellow bars or patches running along the top edge of the forewing ending in a small white patch. Outer wing margins have rows of blue spots/dashes edged in black. The hind-wing is black and orange. The underside (verso) is black with pale orange patch on forewing.
Size: Wingspan 70-85mm
