Taxonomy Identification: Family Lucanidae. Named by Mizunuma in 1994
Colour: Head, jaw and legs black with pale orange-brown triangular patch on head. Elytra orange or yellowish-brown.
Size: Length measuring from tip of jaw to the end of abdomen, but excluding legs and antenna: 75-85mm. Specimens are supplied on a card base.
Comments & Applications: This is a seldom offered Stag beetle from Sumatra, similar in appearance to O. spectabilis but larger and with a wider triangular orange patch on the head. An insect for the connoisseur.
