Taxonomy Identification: Family Ithomiidae, first named by Hewitson in 1856
Colour: the topside (recto) wings are black with semi-transparent white patches and brown margins. The underside (verso) of the wings is similar to the topside but paler.
Size: Wingspan 40-50mm
Comments & Applications: A neotropical species, seldom offered for sale. A butterfly for the serious connoisseur, also useful in high end applications where the customer is looking for something different from the norm.
Format: Unmounted, papered, wings folded, requires relaxing and setting
