Description
Taxonomy Identification: Family Orthoptera, sub-family Tettigoniidae. Named by Serville in 1838.
Colour: The body and legs of this insect are greenish-brown. The forewings are shaped like a leaf. On some specimens the forewings are pale brown with deep reddish veins, while on other examples the forewings are green with pinkish-white markings. The hindwing is partly transparent overlaid with either green or brown veins and a slighter darker outer edge and tip of wing.
Size: Wingspan varies from 160-170. Specimens are supplied on a card base with wings spread.
Comments & Applications: This one of the larger species of bush cricket or Katydid from Asia. Commonly known as the White Patched Leaf Katydid due to its colouration and appearance.
This species is seldom offered for sale making it one of the more unusual species available. Like its counterparts this species is ideal for the arts and design industry. Perfect for photography, film, entertainment and educational purposes.
