Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, sub-family Brassolidae. First named by Stichel in 1904
Colour: The topside (recto) wings are brown with a cream-white bar on forewing; this can be broad or narrow, continuous or broken. The underside (verso) is coloured shades of brown and black with intricate pencil lines patterns in black with large “owlet” markings.
Size: Wingspan 85-100mm
