Taxonomy Identification: Family Papilionidae, First named byDoherty in 1891

Colour: Topside (recto) black with cream white veins on forewing, hindwing with thicker white bars and red patches. Underside (verso) similar but with brighter eye catching red spots on hind wings.

Size: Wingspan 70-85mm

Comments & Applications: A lovely black and reddish pink swallowtail butterfly restricted to the Lesser Sunda islands. Rarely offered for sale highly collectable. Also a nice butterfly for trade applications; framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film
