Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Crowley in 1890
Colour: (Topside) Black with reddish brown patch on hindwing and prominent violet edged white bar on forewing. The underside of the wings are dark brown with intricate fine lines and small marginal eye markings.
Size: Wingspan 70-85mm
