Taxonomy Identification: Family, Nymphalidae, First named by Doubleday in 1848
Colour: The coloration of the topside (recto) wings has a base colour of black with iridescent blue bars, with paler blue marked in black lines. The underside (verso) forewings are black with a silver-white patch toward the tips. While the verso hindwing are bright red.
Size: Wingspan 65-75mm
