Taxonomy Identification: Family Papilionidae. First named by Fabricius in 1793
Colour: The topside (recto) wings are black with white bar across all four wings. Underside wings are similar to topside but with a complex mixture of additional patterns and reddish-brown colouration.
Size: Wingspan 70-85mm
Comments & Applications: A most beautiful black and white swallowtail from Central African Republic. Commonly called the Mimetic or White Banded Swallowtail. Never available in large numbers, often used in wall hangings, frames, domes and a lovely collectors species.
