Description

Taxonomy Identification: Family Papilionidae. First named by Fabricius in 1793

Colour: The topside (recto) wings are black with yellowish bars on all four wings. Underside wings are similar to topside but with a complex mixture of additional patterns and reddish-brown colouration.

Size: Wingspan 80-100mm

Comments & Applications: A most beautiful black and cream-yellow swallowtail from Central African Republic. Commonly called the Narrow Banded Swallowtail. Very similar to Papilio mechowi. Never available in large numbers, often used in wall hangings, frames, domes and a lovely collectors species.

Format: Unmounted, papered, wings folded, requires relaxing and setting
