Taxonomy Identification: Family Papilionidae, First named by Felder in 1865
Colour: Topside (recto) wings, base colour black with vivid patches of sea green to turquoise blue. Wing margins marked with splashes of green. The underside is a mix of pale browns and grey with a margin of blue, red and black streaks. Impressive colouration.
Size: Wingspan 85-100mm
Comments & Applications: A scarce and seldom offered species, one for the serious collector also perfect for high end applications where you want to create a bespoke and unusal piece. Found only on scattered Islands across the Moluccas archipelago and in western Irian Jaya. Several colour forms depending on location. Captive bred examples.
