Taxonomy Identification: Family Papilionidae. First named by DeWitz in 1885
Colour: The topside (recto) wings are black with white bar across all four wings. Underside wings are similar to topside but with a complex mixture of additional patterns and reddish-brown colouration.
Size: Wingspan 90-100mm
Comments & Applications: A most beautiful black and white swallowtail from Central African Republic. Commonly called the White Chain Swallowtail. Never available in large numbers, often used in wall hangings, frames, domes and a lovely collectors species.
