Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Butler in 1873
Colour: Topside (recto) wings are a velvet black with blue iridescent bands. The underside (verso) whitish grey, forewings black with vivid iridescent blue dashes and red.
Size: Wingspan 45-55mm
