Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Guenée in 1872
Colour: Topside (recto) wings are a velvet black with blue iridescent bands. The underside (verso) is a mixture of white, black and red that forms a beautiful pattern on the hindwings. Verso forewing red and black.
Size: Wingspan 45-55mm
