Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Doubleday in 1846
Colour: Topside (recto) wings are a velvet black with blue iridescent bands. The underside (verso) whitish grey with black dots, verso forewings black with vivid iridescent blue dashes and red.
Size: Wingspan 45-55mm
