Taxonomy Identification: Family, Nymphalidae, First named by Hewitson in 1868
Colour: The base colour of the topside (recto) wings is black with iridescent blue bars and faint white mark at the apex of the wing. The underside (verso) forewing is red and black with a silvery-white apex; while the verso hindwing is silvery-grey with two white zig-zag patches and faint lines of red and black.
Size: Wingspan 44-52mm
