Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae. First named by Linnaeus in 1763
Colour: Topside wings (recto) clear bright yellow on the male, mottled with reddish brown on the underside (recto). The female is darker yellow to golden yellow, with varying amounts of black spotting along the margin.
Size: Wingspan 60-65mm
