Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae, first named by Linnaeus in 1758
Colour: Topside (recto) yellow. The underside (verso) is pale greenish yellow with a pale brown line and patterns.
Size: Wingspan 55-60mm
Comments & Applications: Commonly known as the Straight Line Sulphur or Buttercup butterfly. Quite recently the taxonomy has changed from Phoebis to Rhabdodryas . This bright coloured species is always popular for use in frames, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
