Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae > Catocalinae. First named by Cramer in 1777
Colour: The topside (recto) forewings are brown with small twin white spots, the hindwings are black with two large coloured patches, one white the other pink. The underside wings (verso) are similar but with additional white patches and black streaks.
Size: Wingspan 140-160mm
Comments & Applications: This is a huge and very rare moth from Ambon. It displays impressive contrasting colours and amazing leaf shaped wings. One for the connoisseur collector, also useful in trade applications for creating a bespoke high end product for the discerning client.
