Taxonomy Identification: Family Satyrinae, Named by Fabricius in 1793
Colour: Colouration topside (recto) brown with faint lines and marginal spots on the hindwing. The underside (verso) of the wings similar but paler.
Size: Wingspan 60-70mm
Comments & Applications: A common species throughout the Neotropical region. Commonly called the Moon Satyr butterfly. Attractive autumn brown colouration.
