Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae, first named by Butler in 1898
Colour: the topside (recto) wings are white with black marginal border. The underside (verso) of the forewings are white with brownish black edge and faint yellow dashes at apex. Hindwing verso brown with hints of yellow and red dashes.
Size: Wingspan 55-65mm
Comments & Applications: A widely distributed neotropical butterfly, a rarely offered sub-species from Argentina. Commonly known as the painted white or viardi white. A butterfly for the serious connoisseur, also useful in high end applications where the customer is looking for something different from the norm.
