Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae. First named by Linnaeus in 1758
Colour: The upperside is creamy white with black tips on the forewings. Females also have two black spots in the center of the forewings. Its underwings are yellow and white with black speckles.
Size: Wingspan 38-57mm
Comments & Applications: A common species throughout its range, a pest of brassicae plant species. Commonly known as the Small or Cabbage White butterfly. Dried butterflies make the perfect subject for school science projects. Also ideal for framing, domes, photography, interior design and film applications.
