Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae > Heliconiinae, First named by Hewitson in 1867
Colour: Topside (recto) wings are black with red bars on the forewings, while the hind-wings have white bar on black. The underside (verso) is mostly shades of brown with lighter markings and some reddish-brown.
Size: Wingspan 75-80mm
