Taxonomy Identification: Family Buprestidae. First named by Kluge in 1833
Colour: Metallic blue with silver-white markings.
Size: Length from tip of snout to end of abdomen 28-38mm – excludes legs and antenna
Comments & Applications: A large spectacular jewel beetle. Always popular with collectors. Used in framing, domes, artwork, photography, film and jewellery applications
