Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, Named by Felder in 1867.
Colour: Colouration topside (recto) brown and with broad orange bars and small black spots. The underside (verso) hind-wings have various browns with white edge and pinkish hue.
Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
Comments & Applications: An attractive, brightly coloured orange butterfly. Commonly called the broad-banded commodore. A seldom offered collectable. Ideal for trade applications creating unique one off pieces.
