Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, Morphini. Sub-species identified by Godart in 1824.
Colour: Topside (recto) vivid blue internal patch with darker sheen, outer edge black. The underside (verso) is pale to dark grey with a black and pale orange patch on lower forewing margin. Hind-wings verso each have a grey-white patch with twin eye spots . The whole underside is cpvered in intricate black pencil-line patterns.
Size: Wingspan 90-100mm
