Taxonomy Identification: Family, Scarabaeidae. First named by D‘Orbigny in 1902
Colour: Thorax a shimmering metallic green, head metallic rose, elytra black. Male has four horns; two upright on the head, two long thin around the head.
Size: Length measuring from tip of head/jaw to the end of the abdomen, but excluding legs 11-15mm
Comments & Applications: A tiny but beautiful species, sought after by collectors. Ideal for framing, domes, artwork, photography.
