Description

Taxonomy Identification: Family Lucanidae, first named by Olivier in  1789

Colour: Jaws and head black, prothorax and legs a mix of black and brown. The elytra is striped laterally with pale brown and black. A variable species.

Size: Length of beetle measuring from tip of jaw to the end of abdomen is 30-45+mm (excludes legs and antenna). The size of the Jaws varies according to length.
