Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Linnaeus in 1758
Colour: (Topside) Base colour of the forewings are dark brown with black streaks. Highly variable between specimens, some butterflies have reddish wing markings while other carry additional white bars The underside of the wings are similar but much paler.
Size: Wingspan 60-75mm
Comments & Applications: This attractive butterfly is found in Central African Republic. Commonly called the false wanderer butterfly . Not often offered for sale, makes a nice butterfly for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
