Taxonomy Identification: Family Lycaenidae. First named by Bergsträsser in 1779
Colour: Male topside (recto) light blue, female greyish-blue. Wings edged with black dots and white margin. Underside grey-blue with black spots and pale orange line.
Size: Wingspan 10-15mm
Comments & Applications: A small attractive blue butterfly, isolated to Western Europe and east into Italy and Czech Republic. Nice collectors specimens also perfect for fine art projects, close up photography, craft, design and educational reference.
