Taxonomy Identification: Family Hesperiidae. First named by Drury in 1773.
Colour: The topside (recto) wings are a brassy green colour with black veins. Underside (verso) similar but with a yellower brassy hue. Head scarlet, abdomen and body black.
Comments & Applications: This is a rare and beautiful Hesperiidae species, seldom offered for sale. Its english common name is the ‘Giant African Skipper’ butterfly. A connoisseur species.
