Taxonomy Identification: Family, Riodinidae, First named by Linnaeus in 1763
Colour: The base colour of the topside (recto) wings is black with faint white bars and a large blue patch covering all four wings. Hindwings have extended “tails” ending in a red patch. The underside (verso) is black with cream-white bars and red spots.
Size: Wingspan 27-35mm
