Taxonomy Identification: Family Chrysomelidae, first identified by Fabricius in 1792
Colour: Overall colouration a shimmering reddish green depending on the light refraction
Size: Length from tip of snout to end of abdomen 15-20+mm – excludes legs and antenna
Comments & Applications: Stunning shimmering leaf beetles with curiously long hind-legs give the beetle its common name the “frog beetle”. Much used in the art and design industry. Used in framing, domes, artwork, photography, film and jewellery applications
