Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Ward in 1870
Colour: Topside (recto) base colour is a reddish-orange with purple hint. Tips of wings black with blue streak. Females larger and slightly less vibrant. Underside (verso) a mix of browns with white spots.
Size: Wingspan 60-75mm
